It’s Cool to Catch a Taxi
Posted by in Stories
Looking back 7 years ago you couldn’t even get someone to ride in a Taxi in Fayetteville on Dickson Street. It was like a bad taboo, scary cars, scary drivers, and getting a DWI wasn’t any factor for most drivers. With the building of the Walton Art Center things changed on Dickson Street in Fayetteville. The city of Fayetteville made decisions to put in better lighting, nicer sidewalks, and clean up the over all atmosphere of Dickson. This brought in cool clubs, exciting restaurants, better shops, and of course crowds of people returning to the street feeling a lot more safe.
Now on any given weekend you can find such a diversity of people, from street vendors, to college kids at the U of A, or just the regular hometown regulars that have been here for years. You can now enjoy live music, shows at the Walton, computerized DJ’s, sushi, tacos, or fine dinning. Dickson Street has changed for the better. The biggest change is now the Taxi Cabs, with a new ordinance by the City of Fayetteville cabs have had to change.
In 2005 Dynasty Taxi introduced one of the 1st new generations of Taxis, with the mini van. How cool, a taxi that can hold 1 to 6 making it more practical then a sedan. Now as we move into the first football game of the 2011-2012 football season, and the U of A is in full session, it’s cool to catch a Taxi. Dynasty Taxi has grown since 2005 from the first DC-1 to now DC-45 their new red and white taxi. Other choices of taxis are also now available on Dickson, making it now a better way to get to and from Dickson if you plan on really enjoying the evening.
Charlie Daniels Band

The name Charlie Daniels is synonymous with a blistering fiddle and an iconic song that’s as recognizable as a nursery rhyme to people of all ages. It’s been more than 30 years since his epic tune “The Devil Went Down To Georgia,” was released and you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who isn’t familiar with it.
